I have been meaning to write about this all day, but instead I fumbled around barely coherent. You see, I was woken up every hour and a half ALL NIGHT LONG. Yes, my perfect little angel has a flaw. She has become an insomniac and refuses to sleep through the night. I have tried letting her cry it out. All that does is make us both miserable for longer. If I let her cry, she will cry and cry and cry for what feels like eternity. If I go in and pick her up, she is back asleep almost instantly. I know, I know. I'm a sucker and she has got me trained, but if we can ALL get back to sleep faster I feel like it's the best thing. I mean, why lie in bed wide awake listening to my sweet girl scream and cry for her "mamamamama" for an hour while the hubs tosses next to me because he is trying to ignore her and stay asleep????? I just don't know anymore. This is the first time that I really don't know if what I'm doing is the best thing or not. Before now, I have been 100% confident with my mothering instincts. I'm not sure if it's the sleep-deprived state I'm in or what.
Oh yeah, and to make matters worse, when I was finally climbing back into bed at 5-something AM I put my hand in a wet spot. "WHAT THE #*$@?!?!?!" The little Yorkie We're dog-sitting had peed all over my side of the bed! For the record, I don't let any of my dogs on the bed. But somehow this little creep had snuck her way up there and "relieved" herself all over my bed! I'm charging at least an extra $20 for that one, and she WILL be sleeping in a crate tonight.
Ok. I'm done. Man, it feels good to vent about that night from hell. Blakely is asleep, for now so I'm going to follow in her tiny footsteps and hit-the-hay. Nighty-night!

playdates
What a glorious weekend in Georgia! We had perfect weather--mid to upper 60's....I even got a little sun on my face and arms! The little miss and I had a play date on Friday with the Bonner's. Sarah is one of those friends that it doesn't matter how long it's been since you've seen one another, once you're together, it's like no time has passed. It is so fun to see her with her son, Brett. She is such a good mama and he is one of the cutest little boys I have ever seen! He has got some killer blue eyes. We've decided that it was love at first sight for these two! Blakely couldn't keep her eyes off him and he was quite enthralled too. So cute! Here are some pics of our "date".
Saturday was fun too! Jeff had off work all weekend so we were able to hang out and enjoy this beautiful weather outside. We took a walk to the store and Jeff bought Blakely a ball.....big hit! We took Blakely to the park andshe we played for hours! We got some weird looks from the kids on the playground. Like, maybe we "adults" shouldn't be having this much fun on a playground. Blakely loved the swing and the big blue ball that daddy got for her. She held that ball in the stroller the whole way home. We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing at home, ordering pizza and watching trashy TV. I take full advantage of every second we have together as a family. Jeff is so busy, so down time is pretty rare.

9 months
oh.
my.
goodness.
Blakely is 9 whole months. She is such a funny girl. We went to the doctor yesterday and here are her stats:
28 3/4" tall (75%)
weighs 19# 14oz (45-50%)
She is scooting all over the house and can get to whatever toy (dog or her own) she wants! Blakely is so independent these days. She makes us laugh everyday with her shenanigans. We are still having some difficulty sleeping through the night. I was assuming that it was teething because she had had so many teeth coming in lately, now I'm not so sure. I'm pretty sure she is waking up and just wanting to make sure I haven't left her for good. She cries, I pick her up, she falls back to sleep. The dr told me to put a t-shirt of mine in the crib with her so she smells me. I'm hoping this works so she can better sooth herself back to sleep. I will admit, I do love that sometimes she just wants her mama. I am so grateful for what she adds to our family.
I realize that I still haven't talked about our trip to Utah. We got back a week ago from spending a few days with my in-laws in Utah. Blakely is a super-baby and was excellent on all of the plane rides. She slept and played and ate. I had people thanking me and telling me they had forgotten there was a baby on board. I brag because I'm proud. Love my girl.
We had a really good time visiting all of our family. My little nieces are so adorable! Blakely had a great time with them and watched their every moves. I will share more pics once I get them.

This is what happens when daddy feeds me :)
No, that's not chocolate. It's prunes and cheerios.
Delish.
