I'm still here

It's been a while since I've updated my blog, not because I am so incredibly busy that I just don't have time.  No, not the case.  I just don't have a whole lot to talk about that you all might find interesting.  Just the usual day hanging out with the most adorable kid I know.
This past weekend was fun, so I'll tell yall about that.  So my friend Kate had her baby shower.  I made her a lion pillow and got some safari-themed receiving blankets.  The pillow turned out SO cute.  I wish I had taken a picture of it to show.  One side had a little loin face and the other had his initials.  Kate is one cute pregnant lady!  I am so excited to meet baby Andrew and have another friend with a kiddo.  It was a gorgeous weekend with temps in the mid 60s.  I was teased with thoughts of slipping on a pair of flip-flops.  I spend the rest of the weekend outside hangin with the hubs and the girl.

This week is bringing new adventures for Miss B and I.  She will be taking her first airplane ride out to Utah to visit my in-laws!  I can not wait!!  I am so excited because it will be the first time I get to meet one of mu nieces, Lucy.  It will be so fun to have all of these girls together!  I just hope that the flights out there go okay.  I am praying that Blakely's ears don't bother her too much and that she sleeps a lot.  We'll see how it goes.  As usual, I am hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst!  I will say that Blakely is a champ, and she always surprises me with how good she is, and how well she takes new situations.  I really am so lucky.  I will be sure to take LOTS of pictures.  The weekend promises to be a cuteness overload!
Anyway, I will leave it at that.  Ta-ta, off to Utah!!
Love this girl!

8 months

Well, it's been another month....already.  I'm blaming all of the holiday festivities for making this month go by so fast.  I wonder what next month's excuse will be?  The little miss is 8 months.  It has been 8 months of pure bliss.  Utter joy I tell you!  Sometimes I wonder how or why I have been so blessed.

I know there are a lot of these, believe me there's more you aren't seeing, but they're all SO cute!  As you can see we were both sporting our stripes.  I could take pictures of her all day.  It's almost difficult to get candid shots of her because as soon as I pull out the camera she gets that huge grin!  What a ham!!

As far as what she's up to these days...sitting, rolling, and scooting around like a champ.  Still not crawling though.  Should I be worried??  This girl HATES being on her stomach, so crawling just isn't on her list of "to dos".  I have a theory.  Blakely is a very happy and content baby.  She is happy with whatever toys are right around her so I don't think she has motivation to get up and go.  I've tried the "dangling carrot" idea and it doesn't really work with her.  I really think she may be one of those babies that goes strait to pulling herself up and walking.  Oh well, I'll start to worry when she's three and can't get around!
Blakely talks a lot and laughs ALL the time!  She likes to be scared so sneaking up on her is fun.  That sounds really mean, but she loves it!  I have never acted like such an idiot just to make my baby laugh!  It's love I tell you.

On a totally unrelated note:  It's still icy out there and I've been stuck at home for almost a week now!  AHHHH!  I'm going crazy!  There's only so many people I want to stalk on facebook and blogs I care about reading.  My house is clean, laundry is done, stuff is organized.  I'M SO BORED!!!!  It's a good thing Blakely is here to keep me company.  She is the most entertaining thing around here for sure!  It's supposed to warm up over the weekend so I will be getting out of the house.  I just keep reminding myself of how much money we're saving with me not going anywhere and buying stuff!  Alright enough rambling.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!  Ta-ta!!

I spoke too soon

  At least if it's going to be this bitterly cold, it is pretty and sparkly outside.  I am ready for warmer weather, but I am loving this snow!!  Georgia got blanketed with the white stuff and as typical southerners, people raided the grocery stores of all the bread and milk, decided to drive {even when we have NO experience driving in snow} and crashed cars all over the place, and are trying desperately to sled down any hill in site using anything with a smooth surface.  I saw some kids with what looked like an over-sized baking sheet!
My favorite part about the snow....the hubby's work AND school were cancelled!  Yahoo!!  Snow day at home with my family, nothing better!  I took some pictures this morning of our wintry wonderland.  Enjoy!

Spring Fever

It seems like right after the new year, when all of the holiday festivities are over, I get super anxious for Spring I know we still have a few more months of cold, but boy am I excited for warm weather again!  I always love once summer is over, and the cool crisp weather of fall begins to creep in open windows.  Fall is my favorite season, but once it's just plain cold and dreary, I'm over it.
 I love being outside with my baby and right now it's just too cold to be playing outside with her.  I can't wait to dress her in cute sun dresses again and go swing at the park!  Not to mention going to the pool!!!  I love going to the pool and I am beyond excited to find a cute little bathing suit for Blakely and play with her in the water.  I'm also a little psyched to get into a bathing suit myself and get my tan on!  Blakely was nice and did not give me stretch marks, and that weird line on my belly is completely faded.  I have my body back and I'm not ashamed to be sporting a cute bikini and sunhat!  I was a pasty ghost ALL summer last year, and I'm ready to be bronze again {I use sunscreen, don't worry ;)}
I mean seriously how cute would she look in this?!
Adorable, right?!  I think so too!  Oh yeah, and check this out too....

I just love shopping for little girls!!  Hopefully we'll make it to the beach this year too.  I haven't felt sand between my toes in a VERY long time!  Plus, there's something about showing a baby the ocean for the first time that is magical!  Oh what a photo opp that would be!!  Ok, I have a hungry impatient little girl on my lap in need of some attention, so ta ta for now~

Happy New Year

There's no way 2010 can be topped!  Let me start off by saying we had the best Christmas ever this year!  Our trip to the cabin in Blue Ridge was awesome.  We had the best time together, I love our little family.  Having Blakely this year totally changed the meaning of Christmas to me.  We celebrated Christmas eve by going to church (Blakely was so good) then eating with the fam.  Christmas morning was fun as we sat around our little tree and opened presents for each other and the girl.  It just felt right!  We went over to my moms and opened gifts with everyone.  Santa was very good to us this year!  Once the snow started falling....well, lets just call it icing on the cake!  Perfect Christmas!!  The rest of the day was spent putting together Blakely's toys and playing games!
All in all, the Wright family had an incredible year!  It's crazy to think that for the first half of this year I was pregnant.  That seems so long ago now, but I have one amazing little girl to show for it.  I can't believe how much our lives have changed in just one year.  I'm going to do what many of you have, and post a little recap of the year in pictures {I have about a million to pick through}

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is enjoying the New Year!  I'm excited to see what 2011 brings!  Looking back on this year I am incredibly thankful for my wonderful family and friends!  I do not make resolutions, just goals.  No, they are not the same thing.  My goals for this year are to travel more and learn to cook better meals for my family.  I already have my first trip booked.  Blakely and I will fly out to Utah in February to visit the in-laws!  I can't wait!  We will have all three grand kids on that side together for the first time.  Three girls under three!  Should be a blast!!  Although, I am just a little nervous about flying with a baby for the first time.  Any advice??
Happy New Year!
