My First Mother's Day

mother's day was perfect.  because of this man and this girl.

look how precious this is!  jeff did everything right to make this day wonderful for me.  he lovingly prepared every meal for us, did a ton of house work and took us to the dunwoody arts festival to people watch.  i felt so appreciated and loved.  i also had this amazing bouquet delivered to me on friday.  pretty sure every woman on the face of the planet loves getting flowers.

mothers day has officially become one of my favorite holidays.  it's not because of all the attention and special treatment i get from my awesome hubby.....well, maybe a little bit. ok, who am i kidding, thats the main reason!  but really, it's because i can't think of better reason someone should be celebrated.  being a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  i love my daughter more than anything in this world and being her mama is the most rewarding work i have ever done.  but it is work.  a lot of work.  this little girl is days away from her first birthday and is on the move.  she is just one ounce of courage away from walking and loves getting into everything!  she makes me laugh everyday.  for as funny and wild as she can be, she is just as sensitive.  she crawls around picking up all of her stuffed animals and hugs them.  not only does she hug them, but she pats them on the back. *cue the mommy melt down from cuteness overload* 

i remember last year on mothers day quite well.  i was 9 months pregnant thinking "wouldn't it be grand if she were to make her appearance today"  now looking back, i'm glad she waited just a few more days.  thats the way this girl does things.  on her own time.  in her own way.  i love her to pieces.  so happy mothers day to all the mamas out there.
